Memoize a function call

A handy function wrapper that creates a cache containing the results of the function called with a specific parameter list. If the same function is called again with the same parameters, the result will be returned from the cache without calling the backend.

The wrapped function is a backend function. The memo/cached function is a frontend function. A cache hit on the memoized function saves a trip to the backend.
